Are you wondering where to go next on your Greek expedition? Rhodes calls your name, and St Paul's Bay is just waiting for you to explore all of its wonders.

From Lefkada to Crete, Corfu, Mykonos, and Santorini, just to begin with, you can have the most difficult time deciding where in Greece you want to spend your next holiday or maybe honeymoon. If you’re still undecided, we bring you St Paul’s Bay on Rhodes as one of the top destinations to visit on your next holiday.

About St. Paul’s Bay

As the legend has it, St Paul’s Bay is named after St. Paul, who has landed in Greece to preach to the people of Rhodes and convert them to Christianity in A.D. 51. This beautifully picturesque bay is also a relatively quiet beach, offering the utmost getaway from all the hustle and bustle. There, you’ll witness the strip of golden sand enclosed by staggeringly beautiful cliffs.

Whether you’re an experienced swimmer or a beginner, St Paul’s Bay will offer an unforgettable swimming adventure because of the shallow waters. Thanks to the surrounding cliffs, the location does not allow too much wind in the area, so you’ll have a lovely getaway to come to every day. Families with children who aren’t strong swimmers will love this location due to its splendid looks and even more accessible waters.

Feel free to rent sun loungers and enjoy the sun to the fullest. Hop under the beach shower after taking a dip in the sea and lounge under the umbrella to enjoy the perfect sunny Greek weather.

You can find St. Paul’s Bay on the southeast of Rhodes. When you head from Lindos, you’ll be able to reach St Paul’s Bay if you head south. The best time to visit is between June and September when the sea is at its warmest and best to swim in. The beach can be accessed by foot if you’re heading from Lindos. Not only is the beach small, but very uncrowded too, so you’ll have all the peace and quiet necessary to have a lovely vacation.

Activities to do around St. Paul’s Bay

Even though the beach is rather small, you can still find a plethora of activities to enjoy. Apart from swimming and soaking up the sun, think about strolling across the sands and admire the blue waters of the cove. Once you reach the corner of the cove, you’ll come across a tiny white chapel. If you’re maybe considering tying the knot in Greece, this little chapel can be the perfect spot. Many couples have decided to exchange their vows at this stunning, photo-friendly chapel, and you can make it the most memorable event ever too.

Do you like picnics? Well, you’ll absolutely adore one on the beach. There will be no prettier sight than having your favorite sandwiches as you watch the sun setting. If you’d prefer to gaze at the horizon while you sip on your favorite refreshing drink, sit down at a café by the edge of the sand and have the most romantic evening.

If you decide to go on a small expedition, you’ll have the opportunity to pass the forest trails and take a dip in a freshwater lake. Move along, and don’t step off the routes taken by natural springs to witness the most beautiful scenic route in Rhodes. When you decide to spend some time exploring, instead of baking under the sun, head to Seven Springs. That is by far the most picturesque location on Rhodes. A small lake is created thanks to seven natural springs that flow through a valley. You’ll be enchanted by a pine tree landscape, cascading waterfalls, luscious flowers, and beautiful streams.

If you want to make this trip even more adventurous, approach the lake through a tunnel. Be sure to bring a flash light with you because the tunnel is very dark. If you’re not too thrilled about wading through the ankle-deep water, and maybe you feel claustrophobic in the narrow passageway, you can take another route and reach the lake via a path that runs above the tunnel.

You might even get the chance to see ducks, geese, peacocks, crabs, fish and tortoises, and other wildlife before you jump for a refreshing splash in the lake. If you’re having an entire day for exploration, be sure to stroll through the area and follow the course of each one of the seven springs. The water that runs through the spring is drinkable, so you are not to put your feet into it.

If you decide to visit Seven Springs, you should know that it is about 30 kilometers away from Rhodes City, down south.
