The Valley Walk by Art and Walk

If you want to walk with a tour guide and get to know more about Karpathos, you can go on a valley walk. Meet the guide at the AutoTour car rental office at the main street of Pigadia at 8 am, and your tour can begin.

Get ready to follow the goat-paths and olive fields, walk by abandoned houses from the Greek-Americans, and promenade through the flower fields. Expect to see high grass in the summer as the flowers only bloom in springtime.

You’ll be amazed by the olive trees, and as you take shade, feel free to refresh yourself with some water and look at the goats passing by. You’ll see a lovely little chapel below Menetes where you’ll take some time to catch a breath and enjoy a fresh cup of locally made herbal tea.

After leaving the chapel, you’ll come across a wet river bed, historical olive trees, and fossilized shells. The walk will take approximately 3 to 4 hours, and it’s about 7km long.
